It can be polished until it shines, or it can be raw and left to age naturally. There’s something timeless about brass, which is ideal for these homes because we’re designing contemporary living spaces in a very well established location.” The kitchens of Brasshouse combine space, style and
functionality. The splashbacks in the kitchen have a fine brass trim, and the benchtops are made from a ceramic stone, which not only looks exquisite, but is also long lasting. Alicia is excited about other design touches such as “the extra generous double sinks with a white finish,
and the island benches which are more like feature furniture pieces selected to perfectly suit the surrounding space.” There is a strong sense of geometry to the bathroom spaces, which is balanced by a warmth in the brass finish tapware and detailing. “In the bathrooms we have included plenty of hidden storage behind the main mirror, as well as a feature shelf for frequently used items or decorative pieces,” notes Alicia. “With the addition of our optional night light, the bathrooms will have a subtle glow.” “The bathroom and kitchen cabinetry in
both schemes is light, which presents a contemporary high contrast in the darker colour scheme,” says Alicia. “In the lighter colour scheme the contrast is much lower, which gives it a softer and almost French traditional feel.” The floorplans of Brasshouse all feature open plan kitchen, living and dining spaces with expansive windows angled to maximise light and enjoy the views. Within each apartment, the finishes create a series of beautiful contrasts, such as the generous height exposed concrete ceilings with elegant track lighting. These lights
